Bio

Albertus Vembrianto is a freelance photojournalist and visual storyteller who was born in South Sumatera, Indonesia. The last 8 years he has lived and focused on working in West Papua, Indonesia.

Vembri believes that practices of sustainable story and photography is an effort to look over the complexity and diversity of the problems, to ignite the facts that humans live together, relying on the sincerity of nature, as well as to remind the importance of collective responsibility over what has been damaged.

He has been assigned to investigative reports covering the Papua issues by The Gecko Project, International Women's Media Foundation and Tabloid Jubi. Vembri has also participated in exhibitions likes Photoville Festival, World Press Photo, Jakarta International Photo Festival (Jipfest), Biennale Jogja, etc.
